The Candlewood Suites Vestal – Binghamton offers a comfortable and generally clean environment, particularly praised for its well-equipped kitchenettes and helpful front desk staff. However, recent reviews consistently highlight issues with outdated room furnishings, inconsistent cleanliness, and a lack of amenities such as breakfast and room service. Overall, the property presents a mixed experience with significant room for improvement.
Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, certainly not the best hotel either. Room had garbage behind night stand, dust in various locations, along with chipped sink and tub. Dishes were in the dishwasher from a previous guest. The landscaping isn't up kept and the hotel is surrounded by a less than appealing community.
We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way back from Canada. The location was convenient, and the kitchen was comfortable and useful. However, the room itself felt very outdated. The furniture looked like something from 50 years ago. Many of the handles and tables were rusty, which made the overall experience feel neglected. The property is in urgent need of renovation. Unfortunately, it was definitely not worth the price we paid.
No major complaints. The rooms were cozy and well stocked with dishes. The weight room was decent and clean.
Your hotel GM Mr. SRA needs a few lessons in good customer service as well as to understand that you don’t just take people’s phones away from their hands before asking them, and the staff needs to be trained on how to let the customers use their gift vouchers, instead of having attitudes both the Gm and the lady that works the second shift.
It was a last minute decision to book our stay at this location. But, the receptionist at the desk was so helpful. I wanted a room on the first floor, and he accommodated us. The room was very clean and comfortable. I kept saying how happy I felt to have a place to relax while visiting the college. I highly recommend staying here. I plan on coming back and staying here again.
I loved my stay. I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. It was SO peaceful. I couldn't hear anything through the walls. I was at the very end of the hallway on the 1st floor though so that may have helped. There was a little kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, electric cooktop, and a dishwasher with plenty of dishes. I happened to come on a holiday weekend so the prices everywhere in a 50 mile radius were exorbitant. So I paid I think like 177 a night. Oh, no room service either. And housekeeping doesn't come every day, you have to call the front desk if you need anything and they bring it to you. But the BED and PILLOWS ..oh man. I wanted to stay in the bed forever!
The room was clean, there is no water available in the room, only available for purchase. No breakfast at hotel. Overall good experience!
The property was nice. I forgot a toothbrush for the first time ever. They didn't have a complimentary brush. Then I got a call at 11:30 saying they were calling from the front desk to "remind me" that checkout was at 11. First, I have an email from Expedia and from Candlewood Suites IHG saying checkout was 12pm. She said management was aware and will be updating. So I asked how I was supposed to know. She didn't have an answer, was not apologetic and not very nice. Just reminded me again I should be out of the room already and I was late.
Clean but no breakfast, or overhang to shield you from the rain to unload. Very basic. Would not stay at this brand again
This hotel doesn't have breakfast so your kids will be disappointed, the bathroom had bathtubs which in this day and age are a BIG liability and the bottom of the bathtub was slippery it didn't have anti slip material. The sink was clogged and filled up with water. The hotel overall was clean and comfortable BUT you really need a breakfast area
