Guests generally appreciate the spacious rooms and convenient location near the university, but the property is currently undergoing significant renovations that have led to widespread dissatisfaction. Service issues ranging from poor communication to thoroughness have also marred recent experiences.
Upon arrival, the lobby was decent, and the check-in process was smooth. The attendant who assisted us was new but very pleasant, and the gentleman overseeing her made us feel welcome by offering water and a snack. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, though we did notice some strands of hair in the bathtub and sink, which was disappointing. The breakfast area was clean, and the staff were diligent in maintaining it, constantly cleaning up. However, the food selection was just okay, with not much variety. Overall, the hotel room was satisfactory for an overnight stay, but there’s definitely room for improvement in a few areas.
A worst Hilton property i have been to. The service is pretty bad and the rooms are less than decent. They have a Hot breakfast as per them, but it is below par and the food is served in paper plates. It was seriously surprising. Zero value for money
I knew that this hotel was being renovated when I made my reservation. What's a little dust and noise? Well, renovation is the least of this location's problems. There is very little service, very little maintenance, very little housekeeping. The breakfast is minimal and not very warm. The hotel is only using the first two floors' rooms. The one that I stayed in was dirty and had bare minimum of utensils . No teabags until I asked. This is a warning: go somewhere else unless you want to pay for a Homewood suites, and get a Motel six.
Rooms showing some signs of age and wear and tear on 1st floor. But good overall experience. Clean, quiet, convenient for university. Visited in October 2025 and breakfast area had temporary set up as some construction was still in progress, and my family and I showed up 20mins before end of breakfast at 9, and there was limited food left. I asked if more food was coming out, and the answer was no. I found that a little odd. The hotel has a great patio area with some shade also has some patio furniture and a fire table for sitting out in the evenings. Nice staff overall I was happy.
Carpet in the hall was torn. Lots of construction. Things were torn up. Probably won’t stay here again. I asked to have our room made up today and the front desk asked if we could gather our trash and put it in the hall. Not that we’re above that but that’s usually something they do
Too much construction dust in room for us to breathe. The overhead ceiling fan didn't work. The shower head for the disabled would not work. It was the only reason for wanting a room with disability gadgets that help those who are disabled. I am.
Pool was closed. I would have stayed elsewhere had I known.. Hallways smell bad. Disappointing this time. Past trips were better. The app didn't work correctly to choose my room and check me in.
I didn't realize it was under renovation when I booked, not that I minded it. But the kitchen area was indicated to be finished during our 2 week stay, but didn't seem close. Work out room, under construction. Pool, under construction. Didn't really see anybody working on anything. The room I had for the first week, drywall tape falling from the living room and bathroom ceilings. No big deal. Two TV's, but only one remote worked. Got batteries at the desk, still didn't work. Ceiling fan didn't work. Desk said they were getting rid of them. Told him, some people like me from Florida like ceiling fans. Breakfast, yeah, I understand the they are renovating, but they pull breakfast at 9am. And hope you like pepper omelets, because that is what was there every morning. No Hilton ham and cheese omelettes or cheese omelettes. Different potatoes. Some days they had Jimmy Dean egg and cheese bagels you could put a sausage patty on, if it was out there, but the sandwiches weren't out every morning. I got tired of going down there for breakfast and opted to stop at Dunkin Donuts. Next week different room. Ceiling fan worked, but again, only one tv remote worked. Breakfast, the same let down. Both stays, the coffee tasted like it was made the day before... My coworker wanted a microwave and I like having a full size fridge and the extra space. Our trip a month later, this place was sold out, but I don't think I would have stayed there again until they get done. Seems they only have very limited rooms available. Two floors, they had the 3 rooms behind the elevators ripped down to the studs. But, no one working on them. The carpet on one floor was stretched all over. Made it a little tough to roll a suitcase. I love Homewood Suites and I understand this one may be dated, but they could really do better with this construction going on.
The entire hotel is under renovation, which would have been helpful to know when we booked either online or from the front desk when we called to book. The pool was closed which disappointed our kids, and the entire 4th floor hallways smelled awful with an extremely strong smell of must/mold and industrial size dehumidifiers blowing outside the 1 working elevator. The couch in our room was covered in stains as well as stains all over the Carpeting. There are many other hotels we would have chosen had we known about this renovation, which made for a really disappointing stay. The breakfast/breakfast area was also not very clean and options were extremely disappointing as it was also likely a work around set up behind construction/renovations. They should really consider just fully closing or at the least closing the 4th floor until renovations are completed.
Definitely a five star hotel…my company put me up for a business trip….complete kitchen with dining table and chairs….beds were in separate room….very spacious….plenty of restaurants and shops within a mile of hotel..
