This budget property offers a convenient location and clean rooms, but recent reviews reveal severe inconsistencies in housekeeping standards. A concerning number of guests report cleanliness issues, angry staff interactions, and fairness disputes over deposits.
Rude Employees. Miserable Boss. Stole $60 from me due to a deposit that was mandatory. Don't fall for these liars. Just drive a few blocks down and you'll find a much better experience!! Avoid this place at all costs!!
For the price, the Red Roof Inn in Johnson City delivers exactly what you expect: a straightforward, budget-friendly stay with no frills. The location is convenient—right off the highway and close to shops and restaurants—making it a practical choice for a quick overnight or a short visit. Only downside is that before we were supposed to leave the cleaner came and knocked. The rooms are basic but generally clean and functional, with comfortable beds and reliable Wi-Fi. Staffs are friendly and efficient during check-in. Free parking is a plus. If you’re looking for a simple, affordable place to rest without surprises, this Red Roof Inn does the job. Good value for a short stay.
I usually come here and had excellent service and rooms. In fact, I usually have a superb time here and let the manager know. This time, I didn't have a good time since housekeeping knocked hard on my door around 8am in the morning. I get up later than this and I was going to stay an extra day but didn't. I wanted to but being very persistent like that so she could get me out of there so she could clean made me sick to my stomach. I know when check out time is and always get out on time ??Rushing me to get I didn't like. I also was going to leave a tip but decided not too since she wanted to desperately clean my room. I regret not leaving one but with all due respect I just felt I was being hurried out the room in an aggressive way. Don't get me wrong, I love the rooms there and I really like the manager there and thinks he's really nice. It's just I feel he should tell his housekeeping too back off a bit during the morning a little, that's all.
Be sure to check all of the reviews because this hotel deserves negative zero stars. The location itself is convenient, but there are serious issues that people need to be warned about. To start, the owner was incredibly rude and seemed to lack even basic courtesy or respect for guests. My husband and I brought my sister-in-law here after she’d been abused by her husband. We were working with DSS to secure safe housing for her, and she just needed a place to rest where she wouldn’t be found. She was already in severe physical and emotional pain. When we couldn’t get the room door open, the manager finally came up—angry, rude, and with a terrible attitude. After helping with the ridiculous door that was hell to open, he immediately scolded her, saying “no company, no pets,” and then walked off. We were only helping her get her things in and for a hotel brand that advertises itself as pet-friendly, this was baffling. Once inside, things only got worse. There was dried feces on the toilet, and pee dropping on the floor. Used tissue was stuck to the bathroom floor and near the doorway. The floors had dried soap scum everywhere, and there was even a broken lighter on the bathroom floor—clear signs that the room had not been cleaned at all. The comforter, which was supposed to be white, was filthy—covered in stains, old food, and grime, even a shoe print. Pulling it back revealed sheets that were also visibly dirty from the previous guest. The wall near the bed had what looked like either mud or feces smeared on it.Either way It was disgusting. At that point, I told her to grab her belongings because there was absolutely no way she could stay in such an unsanitary environment. It looked like she’d leave there diseased or ill. Those positive reviews are mostly fake ,pay attention to the names of the reviewers. This place is horrible and should honestly be power washed in bleach. Good luck to anyone who attempts to stay here, you’ll need it and God speed.
The front desk guy was awesome, efficent, nice. He knew what he was doing and did it with a smile. Room was clean, nice, and just what we needed. The price was awesome as well. Only thing I have to complain about is, housekeeping knocking and coming in the door before check out time! Thank you Courtney
Good stay for the price. Beddings clean and nice. Room clean. Very well lighted parking. Had it cost more the age of the room/bathroom would have made it a poor value. Cheap but adequate newish furniture. A good place to crash, not a place to hang out
This location offers all of the standard amenities of a Red Roof Inn, and is situated in a convenient area, walking distance from multiple local eateries as well as a fitness center, only a quick drive from gas and groceries, and across the street from a large shopping center. There is a quaint view of a mountain/large hill in rear of the restaurant. The vending machines are always well-stocked too.
Safe and clean for the price. The service I received was excellent. Thank you for everyone's kindness helping me to find a room without smoke or smells and your concern about my asthma. The building itself is worn but they make an efforts with nice clean sheets towels and a noticeably clean shower curtain. Nice newer sheets, shower curtain and comforter. Thank you so much for a comfortable stay even though I came in very late.
Incredible experience. Great location; Room clean and spacious; Owners/staff are VERY hellpful and friendly, assisting me when I needed. Price among the cheapest in the area, but rooms are also among the cleanest in the area. I will recommend this
My boyfriend and I came originally for a little two day get away. Just to get out of the house for a couple days and ended up staying an extra day. the rooms were spotless and smelled good, it was nice and quiet. I didn't deal directly with the staff but my boyfriend did and he said the owner was pleasant. In a great location. We will definitely stay here again when we need that little reprieve.
