The Binghamton Courtyard by Marriott generally receives positive feedback, particularly regarding its convenient location near SUNY Binghamton and its friendly staff. However, recent reviews highlight recurring issues with room maintenance, including broken AC units and dirty bathrooms, as well as problems with inconsistent service and ice machine availability. Despite the positive hospitality experiences reported, some guests have expressed concerns about the overall condition of the property.

Waited for person at check in. Process was fine. Asked when leaving for dinner if ice was available, since there was an ice bucket in our room. Was told by the front desk that there were ice machines on the far end of every floor. Went looking for ice around 10:30 pm. Ice machine on 2nd floor was completely dead - acted as if it was unplugged.. ice machine on first floor had an Out of Order sign. Went to the bar looking for ice only to find bar was closed. Other patron told me someone was in the the kitchen cleaning up, so I walked back there in search of ice to have employee (guy who checked us in and told us about ice machines say “get out…you can’t be here”. I went back to the bar to wait, and he said he’d check ice machines. Finally came back with a bag of ice. I asked him where he got it - he ignored me the first time, and on the second time, said “third floor”. Certainly not what I expect from a Marriott.

I use this Courtyard regularly as my midway charging location for my EV. It's a great, convenient location that's super close to SUNY Binghamton and there's plenty of food options in very close proximity. My most recent trip started out like all the others, stopped to charge and ran into the lobby to ask if I could use their bathroom. Not only did the friendly front desk staff allow me to use the restroom, he welcomed me to stay warm in the lobby while the car charged. Fantastic hospitality. As a Bonvoy member, it registered, this place goes out of its way. Well, right after getting back on the highway, I had a tire blow out. While waiting for the tow to arrive, I booked a room at the friendly Courtyard. When I got back there, Chris Rock greeted me... the same man who'd welcomed me earlier was surprised to see me back so soon. When he heard about the circumstances, the man went OUT OF HIS WAY to make sure the inconvenience ended immediately. Room upgrade, bottle of water, set up my late check out. I'm absolutely certain, if I needed, he would have fixed me something to eat. Simply the kindest and most gracious Courtyard experience ever. I travel often enough for work, always at Marriott and often our team is at Courtyards... this was the singular best experience, thanks to Chris. But, it didn't stop there. In the morning, Candy got me breakfast, going out of her way to hand select the best fruit and perfectly make my coffee. When it was time to go get my car, there she was again, offering to drive me up to the dealership. I mean, this sort of kindness was unforgettable. So, you have plenty of choices... there's lots of hotels in the area... but if you want one where people are actively looking out for you-- it's the Binghamton Courtyard, no question. Signature comfortable bed with awesome pillow options. Great [hot] shower... Eucalyptus/ Lavender bath products, nice work station and lighting if you're working from the room... and the public spaces are clean, comfortable and welcoming. There's a great gym and pool, adequate, free parking and the EV chargers are fast and reasonably priced. There's plenty of options in the area and some may even be cheaper... but, this place is special and you will not be disappointed.

Nice atmosphere and quiet lobby. Easy access to anything and to SUNY binghamton. They have the market always open for your needs, fitness area, and swimming pool. Worth the try!

The Courtyard Binghamton is in a fantastic location close to restaurants, shops, and everything you might need within walking distance. What really makes this property stand out, though, is the hospitality. The staff truly embody the Marriott standard of service. Mark at the front desk made check-in seamless. He acknowledged my status and even upgraded me, which was a thoughtful touch that really set the tone for my stay. Later, I stopped by the Bistro for a glass of wine before dinner and met Melanie, who was absolutely phenomenal. Her warm personality and great dinner recommendations made me feel right at home. I actually ended up staying in and dining there instead! From start to finish, everything about my stay was exceptional. I’ll definitely be returning to this location the next time I’m in Binghamton.

This was a clean hotel with good amenities. The staff were attentive and the lobby and gym were clean and welcoming. That said - the room needs work. The coffee maker couldn’t even be plugged in with out moving heavy furniture and getting into awkward angles (extremely inaccessible) and the tub was visibly aged and dirty or stained. The sink drain didn’t lift enough to drain and the spray handle for the shower was not movable. The room felt overlooked and dingy. My mother would needed to stay in a room like this in her final years and it made me sad that it was so overlooked.

I stayed here when visiting Binghamton for homecoming. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Thats all I need in an event packed weekend. We also enjoyed the bistro which had reasonable prices and decent food. The only negative was the wifi was slow so not the greatest if you have work to do.

We stood here for a weekend getaway. We were in town for a golf event and a concert. Our stay was great. The staff was very friendly. The only downside was no outdoor pool, only an indoor pool, but it was nice.

We are Marriott rewards members so always try to stay at Marriott's when possible. The location of this hotel was convenient for a road trip and was nicely located near the University and near restaurants and shops. While I appreciate the efforts for friendliness at check in, it took a while because the check in staff seemed to want to talk a lot and did not read our level of tiredness in traveling and our desire to use the facilities and check into our room. The main issue with this hotel, and the reason I would not return is because the air conditioner in our room was broken. The fan was running, but no cold air was coming out. I opened the window, yet (understandably for safety reasons) it only opened a slight amount. The room was very hot. If you want to stay in this hotel- call first and ensure the AC is working.

I wonder if this Courtyard was a different hotel previously. It is an older hotel with simple surface updates to the decor. Cleanliness is the number one thing I look for in any hotel, and I was happy it was. The room was a double queen standard, and it was a good size with enough room for a two-seater couch and ottoman. There was a teeny tiny little table for it, but it was so small it was more like a ledge. There were a few details that I couldn't tell if they were just missed or simply not offered, like the tiny tube of toothpaste, disposable shower cap, bar of soap, etc. that is usually in hotel bathrooms. None of that was available, yet the standard tiny coffee/tea machine was there. There were complimentary shampoo/conditioner/shower gel dispensers in my bath, but mine were all empty, which was a little disappointing. The hot water came on quickly and the shower pressure was good, although I did wish the shower head was one of those detachable kinds that turn into a hand held. There was a plastic shower curtain instead of the usual glass enclosure for the bath, and while it was clean, it was quite old and hard-water stained. My room was a standardb double, and there was a tub/shower combo, so keep this in mind if you have mobility issues. They do have other ADA approved rooms, however, so be sure to ask about/book that if needed. There is a so-called "fitness center," but it was a tiny, windowless room. There was only one elliptical and two treadmills, and the treadmills were broken. I run regularly, so it was a big disappointment for those to be unavailable since the weather was awful. There is an indoor pool, but there was no lifeguard on duty @ 7 AM, and I don't know if one is ever on duty. Plan to exercise in your room or elsewhere. Overall, the most important things for a decent hotel stay were ticked--a clean, comfortable room with clean sheets and towels, a functioning, clean bathroom with ample hot water and good water pressure. So I can't complain.
